Yoga for Winter Wellness retreat

1st-3rd November 2013                              * SPACES AVAILABLE *

at Tilton House, East Sussex               

A weekend of yoga, delicious food, and time out for yourself! 

This retreat will be a nurturing space to replenish and revive, with a varied practice of gentle and more dynamic hatha yoga, deep relaxation and meditation. All levels are welcome, including beginners, and postures can be adapted for injuries and health issues.

At this time of year nature is slowing down and drawing inwards in preparation for winter. However, our own lives often continue to be busy and focused outwards. This retreat is a perfect opportunity then to pause and take stock, to go within and build our reserves - just as an animal might during hibernation. 

Our yoga practice will support us: releasing tension, stimulating circulation and strengthening the immune system. When we understand what our bodies need in the colder months, it becomes easier to find our own unique point of balance and wellness.

Tilton House is the ideal place for a retreat. We'll practice yoga in a beautiful yurt with its own wood-burning stove to keep us cosy and warm. You’ll have plenty of free time to take in the beauty of the South Downs and cliff-top walks, relax on the sofa by a roaring log fire, or enjoy a massage treatment. The food is top quality vegetarian cuisine, and you can help yourself to drinks and snacks.

8-9am           wake-up stretch, breathing

                    practice and meditation

9.15-10am     breakfast

11.30-1pm     energising hatha flow yoga

1.15-2pm       lunch

2-5.30pm       free time

5.30-7-15pm   hatha and restorative yoga plus deep                                    relaxation

7.30pm           dinner

                      free time


8-9am           wake-up stretch, breathing practice and meditation

9.15-10am     breakfast

11.30-1pm     energising hatha flow yoga

1.15-2pm       lunch

2-4pm           free time or depart


The weekend costs £330 per person sharing a room.

Availability update: there are two places in a men's room, and one place in a 'snoring-friendly' female room. No other places available.

The cost includes all classes, accommodation, meals, snacks and drinks.

Getting there

Tilton House is near Lewes, East Sussex - by train it is 1 hour 15 mins from London (45 minutes from Gatwick airport), or 15 mins longer at some times.
