Pregnancy Yoga: FAQs

1. Do I need previous experience of yoga?

No. Everything we do is simple and easy to follow.

2. When can I start?

Usually from week 14 of your pregnancy, or from 12 weeks if you are used to practising yoga (please check this with the teacher). If you'd like to attend yoga classes before 12 weeks, e-mail me for options, giving me an idea of your level of yoga experience (or not).

And it is never too late to join! Women even come at the very end of their pregnancy just to enjoy a bit of relaxation and learn a few last minute tips.

3. How long can I continue taking classes?

Most women continue right up to the birth, even when overdue. However, it is always important to listen to your body and to the advice of your doctor or midwife.

4. What if my baby is born early or I need to stop for medical reasons?

If you have pre-paid any classes then I hold them in credit for you. You can use this towards any classes, workshops or retreats for yourself within 6 months of your child's birth.

5. Do I need to check with my midwife or doctor before taking the classes?

Pregnancy Yoga is gentle, safe and beneficial for pregnant women and their growing babies. If your pregnancy has any complications, then it is worth checking with your doctor or midwife before you start. Private sessions are available to address specific health problems.

6. What should I wear? What do I need to bring?

Wear clothing that is easy to move in, with different layers. Bring a yoga mat if you have one (if not, there are a few for borrowing) and a blanket.
